Non-Security Rant: WeWork
July 30, 2018
Having now had to spend time in multiple WeWork offices because some of our customers use them, I want to state this in the strongest possible terms:
WeWork is terrible at everything they do once you are in a building.
This is a repeat pattern. Stuff rarely works the way it should. Clearly, not a single UI designer was ever employed by this company with respect to its app or other user-facing interfaces. Their front-desk staff are generally nice and helpful as they can be, but I have yet to encounter a single user-facing infrastructure element in any of their spaces that actually works properly, without either being incredibly frustrating (by design), downright stupid (also, sadly, by design), or simply failing.
It all screams to me of a company led by marketing, but not investing in delivery. That something so consistently poorly executed thrives is either a testament to the successful setting of very low expectations or, I grant you, my own general crankiness.
